ABOUT

Dr. Catherine Huang is a Senior Research Scientist at Intel Labs. Currently she is responsible for developing advanced machine learning techniques for Intel security products. She is also a mentor for researchers at the Intel Science & Technology Center for Security Computing in University of California in Berkeley and Georgia Tech University. Catherine co-founded the cross-Intel Data Science Center of Excellence.

Catherine has developed end-to-end Big Data solutions for malware and web security on Spark and Tensorflow. She has also developed machine learning solutions for contextual authentication and smart buildings based on sensor data. Prior to joining Intel, she developed machine learning and signal processing techniques for Brain Computer Interfaces. Based on her research, Catherine has 33 publications.

Catherine's research interests are machine learning and statistical signal processing for real-world applications.

Catherine is IEEE senior member and technical committee member of IEEE MLSP and IEEE ISATC. She has served as Industry Liaison Chair of IEEE SSCI 2016 and WCCI 2014, Special Session Chair of IEEE MLSP 2015, and Data Competition Chair of MLSP 2016, 2013 & 2012.

Catherine has served as a reviewer for several Journals and Conferences including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE of Signal Processing Systems, IEEE Pervasive Computing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, Physics in Medicine and Biology, Journal of Neurocomputing, Neural Processing Letters, IEEE ICASSP 2007-2016 and MLSP 2008-2016.
